If you are trying to access Hedia Diabetes Assistant through a partner app, it first needs to be enabled by your healthcare professional.
If you don’t have access, or have lost access, please ask your health care professional.
Hedia Diabetes Assistant requires internet access to be opened through a partner app.
If you see a button to launch Hedia, but it fails to load, please check the following:
- Check that your mobile phone is connected to the internet, and that flight mode is turned off.
- Check that you have a stable signal. A slow internet connection may cause difficulties when trying to load Hedia Diabetes Assistant.
If you are still experiencing trouble, please contact our support.
Food
If you’re missing a particular food in the built-in Food Library, you can create your own food items:
- In the Food screen, tap "My food".
- Tap “Create food”.
- Choose whether your new item is a food or a drink. This affects which unit you’ll use when adding the food to a calculation. If you choose Food, you’ll enter the amount in grams. If you choose Drink, you’ll enter the amount in ml or cl.
- Enter a title, and the carbohydrate content of your item. Optionally, you can add a description and additional nutritional content. Be aware that all food items are specified in contents per 100 grams.
- Tap “Add”.
- Your new item is now available for quick access whenever you’re creating a new calculation.
If you think a particular item should be part of the built-in Food Library, feel free to send us your suggestion.
Physical Activity
When you’re adding a new Physical Activity to an insulin calculation, you can set its duration by choosing from a number of predefined ranges.
Once a physical activity has already been used actively in an insulin calculation, it can’t be edited.
The next time you make an insulin calculation, you can deselect the physical activity if you do not wish to include it again.
The maximum duration that can be set for a physical activity in Hedia Diabetes Assistant is 60 minutes.
If you are uncertain about what to do regarding activities lasting over 60 minutes, we advise you to consult with your diabetes healthcare professional.
Once you’ve created a Physical Activity, it stays active in the system for 90 mins after. The next time you make an insulin calculation, you can deselect the physical activity if you do not wish to include it again.
Glucose
If your account is linked to a partner app, a glucose reading can be transferred automatically to Hedia Diabetes Assistant for use in an insulin calculation.
For the transfer to happen, your glucose reading must be less than 10 mins old.
